NAC PESP 7 VACANCIES
The Creative Passport Encourages Creatives to Apply for PESP 7 Vacancies at the National Arts Council
The Creative Passport encourages artists, cultural workers, researchers, administrators, graduates, and community practitioners across South Africa to apply for the recently announced President’s Employment Stimulus Programme (PESP 7) vacancies by the National Arts Council of South Africa.
At a time when unemployment continues to affect many creatives, graduates, and cultural practitioners, these vacancies present an important opportunity for individuals who are passionate about the Cultural and Creative Industries to contribute meaningfully towards the development of the sector.
The available vacancies include:
2x Arts Development Officers
1x Junior Arts Development Officer
1x Finance Officer
2x Call Centre and Office Administrators
The Creative Passport believes that South Africa is home to an abundance of highly skilled and knowledgeable creatives who often remain overlooked despite their lived experiences, qualifications, and contributions within communities.
Many young people have obtained qualifications in arts management, cultural policy, heritage studies, theatre, music, dance, film, visual arts, media, public administration, accounting, marketing, and community development. Others are currently pursuing Honours, Masters, and PhD studies that directly engage with the realities, challenges, and opportunities within the Cultural and Creative Industries.
Equally important are practitioners from local communities who may not always possess formal academic qualifications but have built years of practical experience through organising festivals, running community arts centres, facilitating workshops, preserving indigenous knowledge systems, coordinating youth programmes, and leading cultural initiatives on the ground.
The Creative Passport encourages all eligible applicants particularly those with a genuine understanding of the creative sector to take this opportunity seriously and submit their applications.
The Cultural and Creative Industries require people who understand the realities faced by artists and cultural workers. The sector needs professionals who are passionate about transformation, accessibility, community development, youth empowerment, arts administration, and sustainable creative economies.
These vacancies are not only employment opportunities; they are an opportunity for creatives themselves to participate in shaping programmes that directly impact artists and communities across the country.
The Creative Passport further encourages applicants from rural areas, townships, informal settlements, and historically marginalised communities to apply confidently. The knowledge, experiences, and insights developed within communities are valuable and necessary in strengthening South Africa’s cultural institutions.
Applicants are encouraged to carefully read the requirements and submit complete applications before the closing date.
